Getting Rid Of Ingrown Hair Irritation

I've covered the topics of body exfoliation, what to know before you get waxed, and how to treat and prevent body acne breakouts, but ingrown hairs can be persistent and frustrating to deal with if you don't know how to properly reduce them! Many of the same products and regimens used for breakouts on other areas of the body also apply in the case of ingrown hairs around the bikini line.  However, the blemishes that occur there are not always the same type for everyone.

If you have...

Ingrown Hairs With Blackhead Material

Some ingrown hairs involve build-up of a mixture of dead skin cells and solidified oil, resulting in blackhead-like plugs that prevent hair from coming through properly.  This build-up comes mainly from pressure, like tight jeans or pantyhose, or crossing one’s legs for long periods, and is typical of people with skin that is not necessarily sensitive.

The remedy for this is the use of an acne body wash using exfoliating gloves, followed by a Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) gel.  You should also use an AHA lotion in conjunction with your BPO lotion by using the BPO at night, and the AHA lotion in the morning.  Since BPO can get a little drying, you may use your BPO lotion every other day, or wear it for a few hours and then rinse off.  In any case, the AHA lotion should be used every day, BUT it must not be used from 3 days before until 3 days after waxing.

Ingrown Hairs With Painful Red Blemishes

Other breakouts involve irritation inside pores as a result of sensitivity to friction from jeans and mesh or lace underwear, activities like spinning and long term jogging, and even sitting for long periods.  This happens especially with people who have more sensitive skin. Visible irritation develops, and blemishes appear red and numerous, and can become quite painful.

The remedy in this case is gentle exfoliation with a mandelic and glycolic acid body wash, followed by a Mandelic and Lactic Acid serum which uses pigment-preventing mandelic acid and anti-redness Niacinamide to purify and calm pores from inside out while flushing out dead skin cells and reducing inflammation.

After exfoliation and hydration, to prevent as well as reduce an ingrown hair problem, a revolutionary, anti-redness, anti-irritant, moisture absorbing body powder called FerroRosa FrictionFix® is phenomenal. This amazing powder is applied all over breakout areas before getting dressed each morning, and again before working out or sitting for long periods, such as at work or long distance commuting.  Appearance of inflammation and even itching is relieved, while skin is protected from friction and pressure by absorbing moisture and oil. Please note that this powder only works when used daily.  As soon as it’s stopped, the problem can return, but it really does work.  Consistent, daily use is the key to be ingrown hair-free.  For your convenience, the Mandelic-Lactic Acid Serum, FerroRosa FrictionFix® and Exfoliating Spa Gloves are now available in a convenient package called the Ingrown Hair Triple Threat.

It is imperative with any kind of ingrown hair problem to make sure there is always 100% smooth cotton between the skin and anything snug or textured.  This means no thong with jeans, and no lace or mesh underwear EVERIf you break out between the thighs, the FerroRosa FrictionFix® can be very helpful, as well as a relief for chafing.
